Pinter Centre Conference, Nov 2011

Ade is Artist in Residence with The Pinter Centre for Performance and Creative Writing at Goldsmiths College, University of London. She’s taking part in the Centre’s three-year AHRC-funded research project, ‘Beyond the Linear Narrative: Fractured Narratives in Writing and Performance in the Post-Colonial Era.’

This research project has been exploring the links between inter-cultural and political change and the emergence, or re-emergence, of non-linear and fractured narrative, particularly in post-colonial and diasporic contexts, including British-African diasporic writing, theatre and performance.

A new work by Ade will form part of the project’s third and culminating annual conference, ‘RECONFIGURATIONS: Remaking Narrative, Reinventing Genre in Postcolonial and Diasporic Writing and Performance,’  from 10 – 12th November 2011.

Along with academic papers, the conference will include play-readings, performed poetry and full theatrical performances, plus workshops with students and local cultural and community groups.
